Congratulations to Ellen Squires of Andover High!!

Winner of the Greenwell Realty $1,000 Scholarship!

Andover Senior High School graduate Ellen Squires has been awarded $1000 for the Greenwell Realty Merit Scholarship.   Her strong academics together with an outstanding essay earned her this honor.  Squires plans to study biology at St Olaf College in the fall.  

Applicants were required to submit high school records and write an essay about the Federal Tax Credit for Homebuyers.  The applicants were asked to provide their arguments in support or opposition to this program.

“The essay question was prompted by my son, Sam, who is a senior at Anoka High.  We wanted the students to gain an understanding of how real estate relates to our overall economy.  This is the 3rd year that Greenwell Realty has awarded this scholarship to an Anoka Hennepin high school senior and each year we are blown away by the quality of applications we receive.  "Ms Squires has had a truly outstanding high school career and composed an impressive essay.” said Jim Hughes, owner of Greenwell Realty, Andover, MN.  “The selection committee was very impressed with quality of the appicants.  It was far more difficult to select a winner than we anticipated.”
